Confrontational society: Simone van Saarloos
She is only 23 years old but her resume tells us that she is already a writer of stories and columns, a literary critic for the Volkskrant and last but not least, a philosopher. For example, she pleads for downdating; women do theirselves and society justice when they aren’t blinded by the oldfashioned idea of a higher educated, wealthy partner and dare to date and explore men by different standards.
On TEDxTwenteU, Simone will speak about a ‘confrontational society.’ In this society, every month a statistic minority will be the majority for one day. Are you always aware of what you think is ‘normal’ and is it — through play and artificial confrontation — possible to change our standards?
