Creating a smart bandage to treat burn wounds: Thomas Meijer
At TEDxTwenteU, Thomas Meijer talks about the project he and his team are working on. The aim of this project is to lower the use of antibiotics by creating a smart bandage capable of preventing infections. This is done in a revolutionary way by genetically engineering microbes and enclosing them in the bandage.
Thomas Meijer Is a Molecular Biology & Biotechnology student at the University of Groningen. With eleven other students, he started a project tackling a modern problem with the aid of synthetic biology.
