Prof. dr. Kitty Nijmeijer is professor Membrane Materials and Processes at Eindhoven University of Technology. She develops membranes (filters) for the purification of water to produce clean water and for the generation of sustainable energy from sea and river water.

Membranes are omnipresent in our body. Next to our kidneys and lungs, every single cell in our body is covered by a membrane that control biological processes in our body. Starting from these biological membranes, Kitty will explain and proof experimentally how we can make membranes and that we can use such membranes for water purification to produce clean drinking water.
